FAQ

What are wax melts?
Wax melts are scented pieces of wax without a wick and when they are burned with a wax burner they let off a gorgeous scent in your home.
What wax do you use?
At Oh Deer Melts, we make all of our products using eco-soy wax! Soy wax provides a non-hazardous base which is much better and safer to burn in your home, when compared to a paraffin based product. Using soy wax allows us to create a long lasting, strong smell, meaning you can burn one piece of wax multiple times! Also, using soy wax means that our wax melts won't release toxins into the air as they burn so you can scent your home, worry free!
How do I change my wax melt?
There's many different ways to change your wax melts. We would recommend to change your wax melt; light the tea light beneath the wax and wait up to 30 seconds until the wax has slightly melted on the bottom just enough for you to be able to slide and pop the wax melt out! Carefully wipe up any excess wax using a cotton pad and you're set to go!
Sometimes I can see smoke coming off my wax melt, is this bad?
This is completely safe! What you can see is not smoke, but actually the scent vapours from the fragrance oil releasing into the air. Like when water steams, the wax becomes hot and the oil evaporates into the air, releasing the scent.
Are your fragrances similar to designer or cleaning products?
Some of our fragrances are inspired by popular perfumes, aftershaves, and household scents. They are not made by, endorsed by, or affiliated with the original brands.
How long do they last?
This depends on the fragrance, burner temperature, and room size. Most melts provide between 8–20 hours of fragrance per piece.

why does my wax melt look a little frosty?
A white, frosted appearance is completely normal with natural waxes such as soy wax. It's a natural characteristic and doesn't affect performance
Are your wax melts safe around pets?
Some fragrance oils and essential oils may not be suitable for certain pets. We recommend using wax melts in well-ventilated areas and consulting your vet if you have concerns.
Are your wax melts CLP compliant?Yes. All of our wax melts are fully labelled in accordance with UK CLP regulations.
